The City of Barnesville Pool will not open for the 2022 season due to structural and mechanical issues. The City planned to reopen the pool which had remained closed for the previous two years due to the COVID Pandemic. However, when preparing the pool to open, structural and mechanical issues were discovered. Attempts to secure contractors to perform needed repairs were unsuccessful.
“We are saddened that the pool cannot open once again this year. We recognize that the pool is a favorite spot during the summer for our community. We will continue to work on necessary repairs and hope that we can once again open in the future,” stated Mayor Peter Banks.
