The Barnesville sawmill was constructed and started up in 1981/82 and has operated continuously since that time. Until December 1992, the original owner/operator was the Proctor and Camble Company. In December of 1992 Weyerhaeuser acquired the Barnesville location and additional properties as part of a strategic decision to enter Georgia with a competitive presence in solid wood products, a Weyerhaeuser core business. In 2004 the sawmill was sold to Jordan Lumber Company.
